The last two weeks at work have been insanely busy. You know how it goes. When you’ve just sat down from taking care of the first thing, the next pops up and pulls you away. Please note: I love my job and the people I work with. Easter week is also a busy occasion with many little things leading up to the main event going on at our church. To top that, the kids are on Spring Break….for 2 weeks! It’s times like these when I absolutely miss my mom, who is now retired and lives in the beautiful Dominican Republic with my dad. She helped me with literally everything! In the last couple of days, I had the blessing of having a long-distance friend stay over for a few days with her children. And now, my family and I have taken the next few days to enjoy some time away in the great state of Kentucky to visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. On our way here, we got a flat tire…just after purchasing 4 brand new tires just last week.
To be honest, I didn’t know how I was going to make all of this work. I wanted to take off from work to be with my friend from out-of-town but didn’t see it as a possibility with everything that was going on. I wanted to have an extended vacation with my family and not go back home until after about 3 weeks!!! But while the kids are at the hotel pool with their dad, and I’m in the room with my sleeping toddler, I have a quiet moment to myself, and I just sit here thanking God for everything that was actually accomplished during these hectic two weeks.
Things at work and church calmed down. I got to spend quality time with my friend and her kids. I can’t believe everything we were able to do in the short time we had. And we found a nearby place here in Kentucky to fix our tire before we head out to the museum and head back home. It’s amazing how when you’re in the thick of it, it feels like there is no way out, no end in sight, no solution to the problem. And then magically, everything settles in it’s place. And it’s really not magic. I truly believe that when you’re in Christ, things always work out in the end. Like a bearable chaos.
You may be going through a rough time. You may be passing a situation, even if it’s temporary, that is causing you anxiety. Remember, in Christ, the impossible is made possible. I live in awe of Him.
Friend, I pray that you have the opportunity to come to know Christ, and if you know Him, I pray that you come to have peace in Him. Nighty-night!
